Sunday Sentiments

  • Communion Sundays are my favorite
  • We all "preach" a sermon by the very act of communion
  • Our Sin is "Cosmic Treason" - R.C. Sproul
  • The Bible describes our sin with 3 terms:
  • A Debt, A Stance of Enmity, A Crime
  • God the Father is the Creditor, the Violated One, the Judge
  • Christ is our Surety, our Mediator, Our Substitute
  • Col 1:21 -
And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
  • Changes, Changes, Changes! What is that Preacher thinking!
  • Thank you James Creath! What an encouragement!
  • Zack has rewards in heaven for putting up with His Dad in the area of the Worship Music
  • Pray for Miss Winnie as she takes care of her older sisters
  • Happy Birthday Miss Memory, Yasmine, & Ian - 1/26, Lauren 1/29, Dan 1/30!
  • So good to see the Williams family back! That makes one month!
  • The 2009 Budget meeting was tough. Pray for your Church
  • God is Faithful
  • Sunday School Shift - Next Sunday - 1:30 pm after the fellowship meal
  • Prayer time - 10:30 am
  • Worship team practice 9:45 am
  • It was great to fellowship with Jonathan today!
  • The CWW Leadership team is a joy to work with
  • Jim's Wisdom, Haywards Passion, Memory's Mercy
  • Small Groups Baby! Starting Wednesday, February 4th!!!
  • Make Plans not Excuses
  • "A realistic assessment of our sin against a righteous view of God's holiness humbles the saint & beautifies the cross"
  • Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow!

Pro-Life Rally & March

It was a little chilly at the beginning of the rally. Sam & Ben were ready for it in their warm 'Elmer Fudd' hats. My children & I have attended this every year for 5 or 6 years now. This year Elizabeth joined us for the first time. She's either been pregnant or recovering from complications of pregnancy each year. I guess that's better than a sign! Every year for the past 3 years, I've had a baby or toddler as my 'sign'. This year I carried Ben as he drank his bottle and napped. I couldn't feel my arms when we finally made it to Central City Park

These signs are a stark reminder of why we gather, pray, protest, & march. Sam asked why we were doing this & I told him that we were marching for all the babies who never got a chance to have a 'Birthday'.
Rabbi Greg Hershberg gave a stirring speech & we hit the road. The crowd was larger than I remember in many years.

May God have mercy on us for our continual crime of infanticide in this nation. Rabbi Greg told the crowd that he had a message for our nation from the millions of murdered babies, "Tell them to STOP!"
May God protect the wombs of our nation.

Fantastic Free Concert!

I took the four eldest of my children to the Grand Opera House tonight to take in a concert by the U.S. Air Force Reserve Concert Band. I knew it would be good but rarely are my expectations so far exceeded. It was top notch & very entertaining. What a joy to be able to experience some "good music" with my children & discuss our favorite songs on the way home. It was cold when we got out so we stopped at waffle house for coffee & second supper. From one "Culture" to another "Culture" if you know what I mean. If you ever get a chance to check out any military band, be sure to do it. You won't regret it.

Men's Retreat 09

Men's Retreat 09

I enjoy it when men sing praises to God. Nothing like it.

Gottcha!

The older they get, the harder they are to surprise! Well, we got one over on Paul Jr. We decided to get him a laptop for his birthday in February. We 'gave' it to him in this video. I hope the volume is loud enough for you to catch the conversation as we were 'filming on the sly'.

Enjoy!

That's My Boy!

Sorry...Just gotta brag! Paul Jr. started College last week at Macon State. He came in late last night & nonchalantly said, "Hey Dad, the professor read my paper to the class as an example. When I got it back, I received an A PLUS." He was so cool about it but I know him & He was excited...for Junior that is. A Lutheran kind of excited if you know what I mean. Calm on the outside but Pentecostal on the inside!
I am soooooooo proud of my son! Just had to brag!

Sunday Sentiments

None of us loves the Church like God does & desires us to

Not many care to evaluate this truth in their own lives

We are called to do life together & that close proximity produces friction

The mouse in my bedroom is going DOWN!

I am now hating what my wife hates...namely, Mr. Mouse

It is a big deal to "not discern the body of Christ" 1 Cor. 10:29

I cannot change people, I can only challenge them

We had 103 in church yesterday...haven't hit that for two months!

So good to see Cynthia Connell in church!

The 'behind the ear' mic is driving me CRAZY!!!

I'm sooooo looking forward to the Men's retreat Friday!

I do LOVE being with God's People...We have an AWESOME Church Family!

Tammy is a blessing to her Pastor these days...you go girl!

The Pohl's Friday night Bible Study was are real Acts 2 experience!

Jim Williams is THE MAN when it comes to Bible Study...you should be in a seminary somewhere! (you are much more interesting than my profs were!)

Discouraged? Read (and sing) Psalm 73

I WILL see you all next Sunday!
