Just Who's Pregnant?

It's been a rough week. Sam was sitting on my lap and he reached over, patted my belly and said, "You got a baby in there?" Then my dear wife made the observation that she has only gained nine pounds with this pregnancy. She chuckled and said, "You've gained more weight with this pregnancy than I have" That one really stung.
Alas it is true. I don't believe I've ever been heavier. I must lose 35 to 40 pounds. No fad diets or eating just grass. I saw a tee shirt that I want to get. It has a picture of a vegetable garden on the front and it says..."Vegetables aren't food" on the back is the same garden with a big buck eating some greens ..."Vegetables are what food eats". Last time I went on a diet I had to go on two just to get enough to eat. In the end it comes down to obedience. God has given us humans a wonderful alarm clock to alert us as to when it is time to eat...The physical growling of our stomachs. My stomach last growled in 1999. Enough said.

Start Em Young

Sam went on his first "Quirrel" hunt as he says it. We had a blast and it was unforgettable for me. He even had his little toy pistol with him. By some miracle, we actually got a squirrel which made it all the better. As close to a perfect hunt as I can recall. Sam was a real trooper. Zachary was great with his little brother as was Paul Jr. We all carried him as some point that evening. The winter woods are my favorite place to be. The barreness of it all is latent with the promise of life. It is somehow pure. The cold cleans up the place. The winter woods are a hallowed place to me and to be there with my three sons was more than I could ask for.
I'll never forget the satisfaction of that hunt. On the way home I treated my "men" to a coke at the local gas station. What a great time even that was. God has truly blessed my with fine young men and one in the making.
