The Gift of Laughter

Someone started an 'Enfield Christian Academy' group on facebook. I am a 1985 Alumnus of this once great/now defunct institution. There are several discussion threads going through this group. We are all sharing funny stories about our time in school there. I have been laughing until it hurts these past few days. What a wonderful gift God gave us when he programmed in us this idea of laughter. Such good memories & good friends to remember them with. My best friend growing up was Todd Mason & two things stood out to me about him. 1: He was the only person that I knew that could run faster than me. He could really fly. 2: He had a loud infectious laugh. I can still hear him laughing. Thank you Lord for the gift of laughter!

Amazing Grace

Have you ever thought what this world would be like without God's grace? One day, (my Mom says soon if Obama gets elected:-))the world will experience just that when the Father gives Jesus the green light to go get His bride. When we (the Bride of Christ) are removed from this world, the restraining grace of the Holy Spirit goes with us. This doctrine of the Rapture of the Church has come, at least in my limited circles, under attack as of late. I won't attempt to address that here but suffice it to say, I'm not ready to jettison this paradigm just yet.
No grace. What a bleak & depressing thought. We are so ignorant as to HOW MUCH of God's grace it takes to get us through one day! Grace is applied to every sin of commission & omission that I commit daily! That's a lot of grace folks! Think of it this way, God's grace is applied to me every day to make up the difference between what I am & what I ought to be. Read that again and let it sink in. God covers us in grace until he sees the perfect image of Christ when He sees us.
Maybe THAT'S why they call 'Grace' AMAZING. Think about it...

the Pre-K myth

Every parent should read this. http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB121936615766562189.html
Georgia's 'Bright from the Start' early childhood development & regulatory branch had announced in their earliest publications that their goal was, "School by Two". They are pushing compulsory education for all children two & up. Pretty soon the government is just going to take them from the delivery room and as long as its free, Parents will allow it.
How cheaply we do sell the souls of our children. Read Deuteronomy 6 Dad & Mom - it's your job not your Uncle Sam's.
In the mean time, beaurocracies like 'Blight from the Start' (pun intended) will gladly wage war for the soul of your children and our nation.

A Bicycle Built for Three?

This was more difficult than I had imagined. The boys seemed to like it. Samuel called it a 'blow ride' because of the wind blowing in his face as he leaned his head over to the side. I don't think Benjamin was overly impressed one way or the other. The 'Baby Backpack' is a great invention though & really saved our backs more than once during our trip.

fauna

We beheld some amazing animals on our journey across the west. The only thing we saw but weren't able to photograph were the antelope. The only thing that would have made these better is if I were viewing them through the cross hairs of my scope. You hunters will understand. The rest of you...get over it - its all about dominion.

Vacation Flora

I enjoyed snapping some pics of the great flora & fauna that we experienced up close. The beauty & diversity of God's creation never ceases to amaze me. Some of the alpine flowers have a six foot root system with only a six to eight week growing season. "Bloom where you're planted" takes on a whole new meaning when you consider that. Needless to say, I did enjoy experiencing the different & new kinds of plants that were such a visual treat.

Baby Bike Ride

Ben enjoyed his first ever bike ride in Kansas at Grandpa Adrian's house
